How to make your research statistically powerful?

Traditionally statistical power has been associated with the level of accuracy in analyzing the population with the help of sample data. While this holds true, statistical power is also related to ability of working with huge data swiftly; ability to use advanced, computerized and online metric tools, ability to adjust data with adjustment components, ability to extract correct information from sub quality or incomplete or less data, and the like. One example of a tool with enormous statistical power is Meta-analysis tool, it is an advanced statistical tool that can be applied only with computers, it is a very complex tool devised by eminent statisticians with the aim of aggregating and simplifying data. This tool is used by researchers to aggregate already available information that is secondary data, from a large number of sources and data sets.

Choice of the correct statistical methods while performing any research work is crucial for its success. This needs to be made keeping in mind the research purpose, location, constraints and resources. The methodology should be well matched and adjusted to the situation, practical and applicable, correct, efficient and updated. In order to plan the methods to be used for research work researcher must be well versed with all the statistical tools and have current information regarding recent advancements, he/she should also be aware of the assumptions, limitations and advantages to make a proper choice of method mix. Researchers with insufficient knowledge of statistics or unskilled in the usage of statistical tools can get their works reviewed by skilled statisticians. They will be able to introduce the necessary changes to increase the statistical strength and correctness of the research and also help the researcher to bring out more information from the same data.
