Being critical while writing assignments

Research scholars across the globe find it really boring to create assignments. It is due to the tedious tasks that need to be performed in order to come up with a brilliant assignment that most of the students often tend to quit it. Through this blog of mine, I would be highlighting what being critical while writing an assignment actually means.

Well, being critical while writing assignments actually means being “Open Minded” and ready for new ideas and approaches. It also refers to being intellectually sceptical about ideas, claims and arguments. As per critical thinking, you don’t accept things at face value; rather indulge in questioning the existing structure and practices.

By being critical while writing your research assignment, your prime focus should be on the following:

  • Meaning of words used within the assignment
  • Underlying assumptions
  • Methodology
  • Data Collected
  • Reasoning/argument
  • Your findings
  • Interpretations made on data
Apart from the above, you also need to present evidence to support your reasoning. Do view the research question from multiple perspectives. Identify gaps, absences and limits within the research document.  Hope the information furnished in this blog would have surely helped you understand a lot about being critical while writing your college assignment.
